They're the voices, the broken families, that have now become literally the chorus of pain that has marred 2021.
"Progress on violence in Baltimore City is still a challenge," said Rev. Cleveland Mason with ACT Now Baltimore.
Mason has been fighting for change for some time.
"It is like a gut punch tries to take the life out of you, and I know it’s been difficult for the citizens of our city," he said.
People in the city plan to come together tomorrow to mourn, mark and hold a vigil for the more than 330 lives lost so far this year, with days left in a what's been a violent 2021, counting down to the New Year.
