Religious leaders representing thousands of churches across the country are headed to south Texas to get a firsthand look at the migrant crisis. This could bring much-needed resources for the people on the ground helping these migrants.

“What I’m seeing now is total chaos - and that is unacceptable,” said Bishop Angel Núñez from the Bilingual Christian Church of Baltimore.

The shocking images from Del Rio inspired Bishop Núñez to organize this trip of religious leaders to the border.

“We as ministers need to rise up and we need to leave the four walls of our churches and go out and love on people unconditionally,” said Bishop Núñez.

Núñez is the chair of several religious organizations in the mid-Atlantic region and he represents more than 600 churches. For the past 20 years he’s pushed for immigration reform.
